LT temporarily off-line
1130 UT 19 Apr 2005The Liverpool Telescope has been experiencing problems with the hydrostatic bearing system on the azimuth axis. During recent nights, on occasions the monitoring systems have (correctly) detected pressure loss, and shut down the telescope. These occurrences have become more frequent, and it has been decided not to operate the telescope remotely until it has been inspected by engineering staff, who are flying out to La Palma today. We intend to resume remote science operation as soon as an inspection and any necessary remedial action have taken place.
